"PROFANITY" REFERENDUM
« on: July 01, 2015, 02:30:56 PM »
You can vote and voice your opinion about this problem on the voting poll
in the "Posting Profanity and Forum Rules" thread.

P.S. Profound profanity is a must to express honest opinion.

Why Reyth keeps putting "make-up" on almost any created threat?
« Reply #1 on: July 01, 2015, 03:17:00 PM »
Yesterday I've noticed that most of my longest posts were altered and the F words (and every other profanity) were removed or replaced with softer words, and this way the meaning of my words was totally altered and made them almost meaningless.

Today, after creating the "PROFANITY" REFERENDUM thread (I'll personally delete this thread after few days, I've created it just to get other members attention on this problem we currently have), Reyth inserted voting poll in it without asking me or even INFORMING ME that he has done it.

I don't want but I MUST say that I don't like censorship or "make-up" in any form because I know that I'm reasonable man and never do nor say anything to insult anyone from the members and I'm here to learn new things connected to roulette and share what I've already learned.

And if this kind of behavior continues and Kav and Reyth keep trying to corner my thoughts (yes, this is exactly what is happening when someone says that you are not allowed to say that and that - and then you start thinking before talking and then, after longer thinking you realize that its not worth talking if you are not allowed to share your thoughts freely) I'll be forced to leave this forum.

Giving freedom to the real contributors and dedicated members will pay off in the long term by attracting new members among which there will be real contributors and dedicated members which will attract new members among which will be real contributors and dedicated members etc..

f*** the nice words bro: we are here to honestly discuss roulette and ways to take casino's money.
All the best,
=GNO=

I agree, truly, there are not many members such as you on this forum.
From one hand I would understand your decision to leave, from the other, there would not be any replacement for you (at least on the near future).

Hello GNO.

I and all members appreciate very much your valuable participation. And I'm sure you can understand that "bad words" could undermine the high value of your thoughts.

I don't think that it is unreasonable to ask to avoid using 4 letter words. Written language does not have the nuances of spoken language and the 4 letter words sound offensive.

I suggest to avoid 4 letter words, especially when replying/referring to others. I would guess you'd be comfortable with this since generally in our everyday interactions (in the bank (no pun intended), the supermarket, our workplace, our family meetings, these words are not welcome. And we are a family friendly board.

In any case I decided to activate a 4 letter word filter. This way if you feel the real need to include such words in your posts, they will not be removed but instead instead some letter will be transformed to ***. So your meaning stays intact, yet the word is technically filtered. I believe this is a happy middle ground.

Thanks for your understanding. I believe you will help greatly the development of the forum not only with your extremely interesting posts, but also by respecting some basic rules. and I thank you for this.

Best,
Kav

PS:Now let's focus on our "enemy", the roulette wheel.

C*nt is even earlier than that.

Quote
Cunt /?k?nt/ is a vulgar term for female genitalia, and is used as a term of disparagement for females and males.[1] The earliest known use of the word, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, was as a placename for the street Gropecunt Lane, c 1230. Scholar Germaine Greer said in 2006 that cunt "is one of the few remaining words in the English languagewith a genuine power to shock."[2]

As you say Mike ,  c*nt   first  appeared in a written form  in  1230 . The name Gropecunt Lane was given to the lane  because it was  much frequented  by prostitutes and their clients  -  and the public acceptability of THAT word at that time .
