Casinos in Cyprus
« on: September 11, 2016, 11:31:44 PM »
Hi.
I am off  to Paphos in Cyprus this week-end for  2 weeks holiday.
I know there are casinos in North Cyprus  but does anyone know if there are any in the South ?
Thanks.

I've been at Paphos and I know that there are many nice hotels but no casinos.

I wanted to stay at Elysium but due to the walk in reservation didn't found available room and eventually stayed at Annabel hotel which is not so far from Elysium.

I was there on the summer of 2006 when Cyprus still had Cypriot pounds as currency (greater value than British pounds), arrived after Berlin where I witnessed Germany defeating Argentina at Olympia stadium for the quarter finals of world cup.

If you decide to travel at North Cyprus (for the casinos), do it with a flight from Paphos airport instead of the land, it would save you money and time.
A slightly more costly alternative in terms of time and money, it's to fly at Rhodes island which there is a casino at the island's capital (Rhodes town).

Best of luck!

According Greek mythology, Paphos was the location where Aphrodite rose from the bottom of the sea.
A drop of blood from Uranus's testicles gave birth to Venus, Saturn inflicted the Uranus's injury with his sickle on the battle of Titans.
Aphro means foam and dite means dives in Greek.

Casinos are at the north, Turkish side of the island and since it's Turkish territory you must have a passport.
At Turkey mainland there isn't any casino, only at northern Cyprus.

Thanks for the replies but I flew out on the 17th !
I am a recreational player Blue Angel so was not interested in going to the Turkish side to play roulette . Visited Aphrodite’s Bath but unfortunately she wasn’t there !
I stayed at the St. George Hotel , Nice hotel with friendly staff but too far away from the nightlife for me. Would suit old folk !
