I agree that a system that is based on flat betting is certainly stronger.  The reason we use progressions is because of negative variance.  We wouldn't need progressions if it was just the house edge.

There are some members that test/post BOTH flat and using progressions. Okay, I still dont agree with it but I can live with it. What I dont get, there are many members that test/post progressions ONLY.

In their YOUNG roulette careers, they have never had a minute of interest in flat betting. That is crazy!

So its a progression or nothing? It shows the culture of the inexperienced.

If it won't open then you need to download the free compiler here:

:WELP!:

Oh noes.  The compiler host is down.  I have the downloaded file.  It is 80MB.  Does anyone know where I can host this file?

Gambling Philosophy / Re: How do I make my systems?

Every system should be built around a target.
What the target is doesn't really matter, and the designation of a target is on player shoulder, rely on his experience and his way to see the game.
Who spent some time at the roulette wheel, sure noticed something that can be used as a target, for example the four repetition of the same dozen.

Let's say we accept this as our target. We do not know when or how frequently this situation occurs, but we reasonably believe that happens often enough to be a valuable information, and a trustfully target.
Now we have to build a system on dozen who will end when that target, that situation, shows up. It is just that.

A system must have a single target in mind, not two or three. We try to survive, playing more or less numbers, with progression or flat bet, till the situation we fixed as a target will shows up and close our session for us.
Sure, there are target more easy to hit, and some more hard. In the first scenario session will be short, and the variance will ask us a lot of faith, while the second can be longer, safer sessions, but at the end shouldn't really matter.

In the system I posted about dozens and column, the target is to have a certain number of repetitions back to back. We need to survive till this sequence becames effective. Here's the tweak I created to get advantage of the target without loosing everything before time.
After a hit, I usually raise one unit. If hit again, I keep raising, and when I miss the bet decrease of one unit. If hit, the next bet will be the highest bet I reached before plus 1.
  The sequence will look like
  1
  1
  1
  1
  1 hit
  2 hit
  3
  2
  1
  1
  1 hit
  4 hit
  5 hit
  6
  5
  4 hit
  7

Hope is clear.

Palestis,  at present, yes, I play only the second dozen when 13 - 24 shows up and only play it 3 times. The reason is because I have not found any long hiatus of that dozen and if I wait until one of the numbers shows up first then I at least assume that dozen is active. It works!
In fact it works so well that I am thinking of expanding. I hope it isn’t against the rules to write about another betting method when discussing the present one? But here goes
In making the tweaks I have done so far, and noticing how well the second dozen is hitting, I also noticed that if I waited for let’s say 16-18 hit and then play that street it would almost always hit within at least 13 spins, many times within 3 or 4 spins. Collecting 12/1 is a lot more attractive than 2/1. I’m going to start playing this any day now.

2 points to note about progression -

1. Assume you use a 1/2/4 progression, what difference will it make if you use a 1/1/1 bet size ?

2. The use of progression is justified if the variance is known to be quantifiably limited.

You only bet the 2nd dozen (13-24)?
And you only bet it after it appears?
Is there any special reason the 2nd dozen will appear sooner, as opposed to the 1st and 3rd dozen?
And how many times do you bet the 2nd dozen after it appears? Still 3 times or indefinitely till it appears? And if you only bet it 3 times, do you wait to show up again then bet 3 times again?
