Cashback
« on: December 07, 2017, 11:20:05 PM »
Hello gentlemen! I have a question to you, when you go to the offline casino, not the online one, I mean the real one where you have to go to, do they give a cashback on the money you lost? And I mean not the lucky chips, but the real chips, which can be excnahged for cash? Do they give the cashback only on roulette and table games or also at the slots?
I've been to a lot of casinos in Russia, Georgia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and everywhere they give you 10% cashback on the money you lost. I was wondering, is it everywhere in the world like that?
If you answer please tell me which country you are from, thanks in advance for answers!

Hi there,
South African casinos do not use the cash back reward system as a way for players to return. Most of our casinos operate on a card system and registration is promoted for a personal card as opposed to using a guest card. The casinos then have a recorded history of you as a player. They are able to see all your movements in the casino and monitor your wins/losses and how much you spend on an average visit. With this you are randomly rewarded with free play on slots and table games. Free overnight stays with breakfast included are offered in birthday months and Christmas time (salary bonus months).
The cards are graded, silver, gold, black and platinum and rewards differ for each grade.
Cash back is a  way for them to play Mr Nice Guy so you will return to loose some more.

Thanks for the reply man. Yeah we got the card system too and they also give you bonuses sucj as accomodatio and free drinks and food ans such things. But also they have this cashback. And it is like mandatory in the post USSR space. I guess it comes from Moscow. We used to have a lot of legal casinos in Moscow untl the 2009. And the game was big in here f you know what I mean) And in 2009 all of gambling became illegal in the country except for some zones. And all the casinos that were in Moscow moved to Georgia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. And they have the same management that used to work in Moscow. So they have the same rules. I was just wondering if this thing happens anywhere else.

No cashback where I play (Europe). I don't know though if the real high rollers get any of that. I've heard that a cash back (like 10%) is possible if you are a high roller well known to the casino - VIP player.

Free drinks and food are also included  on our card system but we have to build up points to qualify. So in the end we actually pay for everything indirectly.
Nice piece of history on gambling in the USSR. There is a potential book that can written on the subject. I'm sure if such a book is written and complimented with HQ photographs it would sell.

Not sure about the book man) In here, if you are a new player, they give you just the usual card, then its silver. To get it you have to go up or down something about 5000-8000$, depends on the casino. Then its the gold level, its different everywhere. In some places I used to get gold just by communication with the pitboss and manager, the way you behave yourself. Like if you come to the place for a several days and just play and like get kind of friends with the management, they also get friendly with you. On the silver leevel ypu usually get all the food and drinks for free, the gold level and platinum you get a hotel and a driver and some other things. they can sort out for you. Also they have the lottery that goes out usually every week and every month. Its like the point system u talk about. For every dollar u get one point, then in the end of the week or month u come to the casino and they have kind of lottery with cash prizes or cars. Like Mercedes E class, Land Cruiser200, usually its something like that.

I pretty sure they have the card system everywhere, it just depends on what u get from it. I guess the casinos that used to be in Moscow they are now fighting for every client with the money, cause in Moscow back in the days the game was big. And now as they moved outside the country they donr get such clients with big money and they use every opportunity to get that client. Also I heard that in Europe they dont usually play such sums as they used to play in Moscow, guess thats why they dont use this cashback system in Europe. Dont know anything about other countries. I think they do it in Vegas or at least they used to do it, because when casinos happened in Moscow in the early 90s, Vegas and Europe is where the rules and the management came from.

I don't know the exact numbers of what constitutes a high roller, but you can imagine playing with $25 chips as minimum.

The card system in Greece is a loose one. I don't know about slots, but in table games you just call the pit-boss, tell him you are playing in this or that table and he scans your card. So the level of monitoring your exact wins and losses is not very high.

If they scan your card each time you play then they know exactly how much cash you put on that table and how mucj cash you took from it leaving. In slots in here they have also the card system, but you dont have to use it. Its like each slot machine have a "slot" for a card, you can insert you card and then cash. If you lose they usually also give 10% cashback but its located on your card and within the end of the game session (it can be 6 or 8 or 10 or 12 hours, depends on the casino). But also you might not use the card when playing slots, but you wont get a cashback then
