Yes we lose as well.   I have been lucky for years, won a lot, and lost near all. We can never be winners at all the trials, we can win most of the trials, but the few loss can eat most of it. JUST care the loss not eat all wins.

Never all times play "carefully", at a no no zero, a bold short burst  at the table can get a win. A table with so well 0 as 00 I would not even try.  Game as roulette turn over a lot of money, the HA eats if play long and large cover of the carpet. NOZ is a lot differ, but few really understand.

The difference between players and gamblers is not clear and subject to interpretation.  From the casino's point of view, they are synonymous.

I prefer to categorize those who indulge of games of chance as either amateur or professional; the latter being those who have an edge and perhaps make a livelihood from the endeavor.

Not think that they are synonymous for casino. Say casino stuff behaviour in mine local casino, when play others and when play me - is totally diferent, so they for sure not keep me as gambler....

make a livelihood from the endeavor.
this is simply result of training and knowledges. Many want to live from play, but only few that can....

Have to admit this is sadly true
But its great fun trying out your new system and mostly losing money
I do have one bit of important information to share and i guess I have stolen this from one of the greatest poker players of our time
Its very important to take notes on all your sessions as well not just i lost or won but how you played what you bet on
where you lost and won your money what system where you trying
were you tired had an argument with your partner anything that could affect your judgement
And importantly how long you played
The more detailed notes you take the more you will be able to flick back on later I am off to the casino tonight to try a system i have been working on for years now and i am always adjusting it to suit hopefully later when i feel more confident that i wont get slated to much i will share it with you all
I am doing ok with it no it does not win every day but i am doing great right now

Totally agree.
Even better, keep rough notes while you are at the casino and later copy them to another book. This bookkeeping is some sort of forced reexamination of your play.
If you do not copy your notes elsewhere, then you may never read them again. Like someone who keeps a diary but never reads it.

Ok tonight we played for about an hour £60 profit and left the casino
Not sure yet where to post my system as it seems to be working MOST of the time I suppose you could call it a trigger system
So tonight i will try and share it a bit more in detail

Record keeping is most important. I record every spin. I later play them over and annotate them for later reference.

I made a couple of small clipboards 120mm x 180mm. I make up notepads to fit from tracing paper. I have designed a layout for each system that I use. Which is placed under the tracing sheet and makes play automatic.

I know some of you have doubted my claims to be able to play at over 100 spins an hour. that is the reason.

My experience with gambling, for 40 years, has been mostly on paper, acquiring
data, testing, etc.  The occasional losses that I've had have all been less than $100.
Probably less than $50. And usually the result of the "what the hell" attitude where
I just try some catch up bets.

It has been like painting yourself into a corner. There are a number of parameters
in gambling. I used to drink. After a while you get to learn what kinds of strategies
and behaviors will get you into trouble. And which ones are safer.

So in developing a system eventually you learn what to NOT do or NOT try.  And
you develop a confluence between reliable bet selection and sensible money management.

I feel like I am close now. I have been going on regular trips. I generally bet at a $5 table.
I usually make $10 while writing and studying data.  But I make money.  And yes, Kav
is 100% right about the real experience of making a bet.  Your head goes into a different place.
And the reality of a win or loss becomes a hard fact that you need to learn not to react to.

When you gloss over pages of data it happens in an instant. As do the money swings.
That is not the case with real gambling. And that is part of the training.

Roulette is a just like a woman - a little unpredictable in the beginning but after a while you start to understand what turns her on and off and things get much easier.

And Kav's advice is right on point: if you are just standing across the street and waiting there without approaching her, how the hell are you going to get laid? :)

If your long enough, whip it out and tell her to come over.

wow what great posts.  I know I fall into at times the "what the hell lets try once more " even though I hit my target loss.  that for me is the most frustrating thing I do or over play/over stay at times.  the old oh just one more win and I will leave and then the floor disappears and you fall, fall, fall.  now I am in the to afraid to bet and lose phase.  one more thing to ask all of you....Most or all of you play live dealers and brick and mortar casinos, correct?

you do fail your way to success. and yes it is expensive. volatility or variance is the greatest enemy of the player. most player dont have the patience to wait for the right time to make their bets. so they cannot ride the variance and go bust. in the same token it is just as important to cut losses. my biggest learning curve. losses can be recoup but again patience. how do you learn it. mostly through pain. biting your nails as to why you did not wait just a little longer before you saw the perfect timing. virtual plays and sessions is way under rated. yet they are just what the doctor ordered. losses are normal. we should always play to win. but losing is by far the best teacher if one is the best student.

I have always seemed to make my greatest discoveries after my greatest periods of frustration.  Losing money in a strange way, "freed up my mind and heart" to pursue roulette even harder.
