Not the least helpful advice. There was a question of a member the other day about how long does it take between spins in a real casino. You, the great roulette player didn't dare or bother to give an answer. Instead you preferred to repeat your mantra about gambler's fallacy in an unrelated thread.-Kav

Which question?  Can you find a link to the question?

A simple question made a couple days ago, in your... field of expertise.
How much time between spins?

Furthermore, if the point is to make money, I don't see any of the AP members help the others to make money. And you don't believe systems are a way to making money. So what are doing here exactly?

Kav,

Basically, what Real said. When I first started looking at roulette as a potential source of profit I thought a good place to find some direction would be the roulette forums. Regarding systems, I was spoiled for choice, or so I thought. In my naivete, I honestly thought I could come up with a winning system, after all, many others on forums were bragging about THEIR success, and how hard could it be?

After a few months of researching and coding ideas (my own and others) the penny began to drop and I realized I was on a highway to nowhere. I had noticed, here and there in the forums one or two small voices among the shrill cacophony of system mantras, urging a quite different approach - physics and advantage play. Hitherto I had disregarded these heretics - their approach seemed complicated, and objections were raised that the casinos had simple counter-measures in place which rendered them obsolete. And I was also turned off by the never-ending squabbles between AP advocates like Mark Howe and Steve H (BOTH are scammers, by the way). It was only thanks to Real and one or two others that I began to seriously investigate AP for myself, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Not much has changed in the intervening years. System sellers don't have so much of  a presence on the net any more (thank goodness), but the forums are still largely singing the same old tunes. So I'm doing my small bit to speak out against systems and at least make people AWARE that there is another way.

And unlike systems, AP is largely a set of SKILLS. You have to practice and make them your own, it's not a question of just knowing some magic triggers; the whole M.O. is totally different. Apart from highly specialized bias play which Real is an expert in, the basics of AP (to be more specific, VB) are not jealously guarded secrets, the information is freely available online if you do a little research.

And yes, the bottom line is making a profit. It's not a dirty word. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy roulette and find it a fascinating game, but I wouldn't enjoy it much if I was losing.

Kav,

I didn't even see the question.  However, I have just taken the time to answer it.

@ Reyth,

I don't really understand what you've done, perhaps you could post the source code (with comments) so that I can replicate your results?

Ok will do!

BTW, there is no conclusion that I "dread", and I have no agenda. Why is it necessary to make things personal? If there were a PRACTICAL way of making money through playing systems, believe me I would prefer it. I will be the first to congratulate you guys and eat humble pie if it can be demonstrated. The point, after all, is to make money, and I'm not motivated by some weird ideology to trash systems and champion AP, or just prove that I am right and you are wrong in order to pamper my ego. In my experience (and I have experience with BOTH ways of playing), AP works and systems don't, simple as that.

Ok, well thanks for sharing that.  I guess we all get a little bit snarky on either side of the "fence" at times.  I admit I was a little bit over-zealous there and I want to thank you for pointing it out. ; )

Here is the first program that will calculate the maximum number of consecutive losses against inside betting stations, run in cycles of 16M spins:

Code: [Select]
' Stations/Straight Losses
' 7/58, 10/35?,11/40, 12/31, 13/28, 14/20, 15/20, 16/19, 17/27, 18/11
1 SCREEN 12
5 DIM so(500)
7 INPUT "# of stations"; s
10 RANDOMIZE TIMER
20 rs = INT(RND * 37): sp = sp + 1
30 IF rs < s THEN so(sl) = so(sl) + 1: sl = 0: GOTO 70 'output
40 'loss
50 sl = sl + 1: tol = tol + 1: IF sl > ml THEN ml = sl
60 ' output
70 'CLS: PRINT "Spins:"; sp
80 'PRINT "Losses:"; ml
90 IF sp = 16000000 THEN 120
101 a$ = INKEY$: IF a$ = "q" OR a$ = "Q" THEN END
110 GOTO 20

120 cr = cr + 1
130 CLS: PRINT "Completed Results:"; cr
135 IF ml >= oml THEN oml = ml
140 PRINT "Max Loss:"; oml
142 PRINT: GOSUB 200
150 sp = 0: GOTO 20

200 FOR i = 1 TO 456
210 PRINT so(i);: rt = rt + so(i): so(i) = 0: NEXT i: PRINT rt: rt = 0
215 PRINT tol: tol = 0
220 RETURN

Line 30 collects the results into an array so() for output so the distribution of losses against the number of spins can be analyzed.  The chosen stations will always be 0- the number of stations the player chose; e.g. 5 stations will automatically choose 0-4 and all spins will check against that for a potential hit (line 30).
