How about a trigger of XYZ?  There must be 3 uniques.

Instead of betting 2 numbers do you mean  2 dozens?
And now that you decided to bet one number does that mean one dozen instead of two?
And if that's the case, which of the last 2 dozens do you bet? In your example 32-17-7 do you bet the second or first dozen? or do you chose it randomly?

Gapping numbers are a true key to roulette success.  When they are combined with hot numbers they become EVEN MORE powerful.

I have thought to try playing the three hottest numbers and the three hottest gappers as a system but I haven't put anything together on it.

Same progression? (i.e. 1-1-2 etc.)

Once there are hot numbers, the hot number method bets continuously.

I’ve been going over the numbers and I think I have solved my own problem.  It turns out I was just being greedy.  Instead of betting two numbers I will just bet one, it hits almost as often. I just checked 300 spins and there were I think 4 separate b2b losses and 2 three loss occurrences.  Those are fairly easily handled and in my opinion worth it for the rate of hits.
I think my expectations got too big when I noticed how many winners there were betting two dozens.

The only thing your virtual losses are doing is causing you to bet on fewer spins and wasting your time in the casino.

My suggestion to you:

1. Choose how many spins you want to play.
2. Don't use the triggers and the game will go much faster so you can go home sooner.

That would be correct palestis!  If the last three numbers to show were 32, 17, 7  for the next 3 spins I would bet both dozen 2 and dozen 1 at the same time, unless of course one of the dozens I’m betting on comes first.  So possibly I would make 6 bets within 3 spins.  Betting on 2 dozens that have just appeared makes sure you are not betting on a bashful dozen.

I like the hot numbers system better, because I like betting very few numbers.
However the casino near me is so slow (the dealer shorts out the chips by hand after every spin), and  it is impossible to play that system without falling asleep. Therefore I don't use it and I only use the dozen system. Even that moves very slowly, and currently this is my biggest problem, aside progression and money management.
That is y I look for virtual losses, because a 2+ B2B losses run will take so much time to recover, that I might leave the casino  without even trying to recover. That's how bad it is in this casino.
Next year there will be a brand new WYNN casino in my area. And I am waiting for that.
As far as which system is more prone to failure I haven't noticed any.
