Hello kav! Though I prefer to read great literature in the old fashioned way, it is fine that you urge everyone to read Tolstoy. I myself have "The death of Ivan Iljitj".

Fjodor Dostojevskij is one way of spelling another great Russian author.
"Der Spieler" ("The gambler") of his is a short novel. The author himself was  a compulsive  gambler.
I urge everyone to read it too.
